Bodh Shiksha Samiti, an NGO based in Jaipur and a partner of the Aga Khan Foundation, is searching for outstanding individuals with relevant technical experience to contribute to an expanding portfolio of activities in education improvement. Working for nearly two decades, Bodh, has evolved dynamic community based pre-school and elementary education approaches that cater to young children from poor and disadvantaged communities. The organisation has developed innovative curricula for pre-primary, primary and upper primary levels and has found wide acceptance in the government and with NGOs resulting in an expansion of its work to additional geographical areas. Bodh is currently establishing an Academy for School Education with highly qualified faculty to undertake training and research related to improving the quality of education. A comprehensive search process is underway for the following three senior positions.
Deputy Director - Academic & Research
A qualified and highly motivated candidate is required to lead a team working for academic activities relating to the development of curriculum, pedagogy, learning materials and for conducting research. The candidate will maintain close links with other NGOs and academic institutions to develop procedures for exchange and dissemination of knowledge. The Deputy Director will work with the Executive Director and the Deputy Director, Programmes. The candidate should possess an advanced degree in social sciences, education or education management. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in designing and delivering learning systems at the primary school level.
Deputy Director - Programmes
A dynamic candidate is sought for the efficient and effective management of the portfolio of community-based education projects. Responsibilities include ensuring that all directives and plans as issued by the Executive Committee are implemented within the required timeframe and to budget; conceptualising, planning, budgeting and implementing new programmes; leading, managing and nurturing teachers, facilitators, resource teachers and ensuring that the programme objectives are achieved. The candidate will support the Executive Director in engaging with funding agencies government agencies, academic institutions professionals and other stakeholders. The role requires continuous reviewing monitoring and evaluation systems, ensuring adequate staffing levels, facilitating the professional development of staff; and providing day-to-day management, guidance and exercising financial and quality control. The candidate should possess a Ph.D or an M.Phil degree in education/social sciences/child development or relevant subject.
