Since this career entails working daily on computers, you should have a deep interest in using the apparatus. Good eye-hand co-ordination, eyesight, colour consciousness, the ability to think logically and patiently and make accurate quick decisions, an aptitude for learning new methods easily and a good general knowledge are all important qualities.
You should also be able to concentrate for long periods of time and do your work correctly. An above-average intelligence is required by anyone wishing to be more than a computer-user. In the majority of cases, good communication skills are also vital as is the ability to work on your own or as part of a team.

As a Computer Operator, your task would simply be to use the computer for your designated tasks. You would also have to clean the equipment - such as printers - to ensure that mistakes do not happen due to dirt or dust. The Internet has broadened the scope for operators and increasingly complex hardware and software would mean that you would continue to learn new techniques.
