From the
moment you face the interviewers till the time you leave them - you have
plenty of time to make a positive impact on them that they are convinced
that you are the person for the job!
- Be
genuinely Interested: show that you are very interested in the
position. This can be best done by asking relevant questions.
-
Maintain eye contact with the interviewer and put every effort to
convert the interview into a conversation between two people /
parties.
- Ask
Questions: Don't be afraid to interact with the interviewers. In
fact, your ability to communicate well with your interviewers is a
great plus. As for clarifications if you do not understand something,
find out details about the job such as work hours, place of work,
opportunities for going abroad etc. It is okay to ask questions from a
list that you had prepared earlier.
- Most
interviews reach a stage where the prospective employer is through
with asking your questions. This is when they give you the chance to
ask them questions about the job. Use this opportunity to your benefit
by asking things like -
- What
will a normal work day include?
- Will I
be given any training?
- How many
people will be there in my team?
- Will I
be posted abroad?
- Are there any performance based incentives? etc.
While
asking questions, please do not go overboard. Remember, you are the one
being interviewed, not them!
