Essential Elements of a Successful Entrepreneur

The entrepreneurship as wisely pointed by Mr. Rajat Khare (CEO Appin Knowledge Solutions) that it is an art of taking risk. Entrepreneurship is all about taking calculated risks. It is the ability to identify the gains and losses in advance and the determination to continue even the plans
completely fails and most important to have a back up plans i.e. he/she must have something to fall back on to minimize risks.

The ability to take risks reflects leadership qualities of an entrepreneur. A leader is always prepared to make first move and able to show his/her vision to the team. Leader is the binding factor for his/her team. He/she works as an elder member of a family, understanding the need of
the team members, helping them to solve their problems, motivating them to utilize their potential to fullest. For leader team comes before his/her personal interests.

Warren Bennis, a noted writer on leadership, says: "To choose a direction, an entrepreneur must have developed a mental image of the possible and desirable future state of the organization. This image is vision. The vision is something like a dream which an entrepreneur keeps in his/her heart 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The vision reflects the heights where an entrepreneur wants his/her venture to reach. Vision is something the organization intends to become and to achieve at some point in the future.

The vision is not achieved alone. The entrepreneur has to work in close accordance with people actively involved in the day to day affairs of the company. These people includes employees, business partners, customers and of course competitors. Thus certain qualities are required apart from leadership and risk taking abilities.

The foremost thing is to establish trust with whosoever you work. Until and unless there is no trust you can not survive. You must trust your business partners, employees. Trust along with mutual respect for each other creates a healthy environment needed for growth.

The customer is the most treasured asset of any organization. By providing quality products/services you are not only generating revenue for the company but creating an image among the customers which helps in realization of your vision in a very short span of time.

Thus if you have the ability to take risk, leadership qualities, vision then only sky is the limit for you.
