Amazon plans call centre in Hyderabad

New Delhi: Leading online business house Amazon.com Inc on
Wednesday announced its plan to open a customer service centre
in Hyderabad.
Set to be operational in the second half of 2005, this centre
will offer additional email support to its customers,
according to a PR Newswire-Asianet release from Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad centre will be the seventh of the customer
service centres of Amazon.com Inc and provide 100 new jobs.
"As more of our customers come from outside the United States,
it is important that we have customer service representatives
available to respond to our customers, regardless of the time
zone they might be in.
"The additional resources provided by our new Hyderabad office
will enable us to serve our customers more quickly and
effectively," said Amazon's director of India customer service
operations Pritam Baxi.
A Fortune 500 company, Amazon.com, Inc. offers through its
online store a wide variety of new and used products in
different segments such as beauty, health and personal care,
jewellery and music, toys and baby, and home and garden.
The company has registered net sales worth $ 1.90 billion in
the first quarter of 2005, compared with $1.53 billion in
first quarter of 2004, an increase of 24 per cent. |
