HE'S THE undisputed King of Retail who revolutionised the art of selling when he stormed the market with his hypermarket chain Big Bazaar. Often criticised for being overconfident and impulsive, even the staunchest detractor of the 43-year-old Biyani has to admit that his timing has been nothing | but perfect.
He currently operates 600,000 sq feet of retail space through a
multi-format model that includes Big Bazaar, Pantaloon, Food Bazaar.
Biyani hopes that one day he'll be able to emulate his hero Sam Walton.
Well, if he manages to build an Indian Wal-Mart, he's sure to become a
constant on our Power list.
