Wipro is evaluating five to six new locations for expanding its operations
in the country.
"We continue to look at more opportunities where there is infrastructure,
workforce and fibre optics. We are looking at least five to six more
locations," Wipro Spectramind chairman and managing director Raman Roy
told newspersons in New Delhi on Friday.
He said the company was trying to weigh its options and also its future
plans. "Expansion is a given in our business. We went live in Kolkata last
month and are very excited about the growth. We already have a thousand
people in Kolkata," he said.
He said Wipro Spectramind had 13,000 people at the end of last quarter.
"We will continue to grow and people will need seats."
On the impact of US election results on business, he said customers are
back and are buoyant on business. There is a huge opportunity for the
sector to grow and the only limitation is limitations as a country, he
added.
